Westinghouse Independents UK Contract Ends Long Strike

United Electrical Workers and Westinghouse Electric Corp agreed on a five year pact to end a 153 day strike by UK locals. Local ratification is urged while a separate Philadelphia plant strike remains unresolved. U S Route 25 Hearing Set on Lima Piqua Plan

Ohio Highway Department will hold a hearing at the Shelby County Courthouse in Sidney tomorrow on relocating U S 25 from Lima bypass to Piqua to form a limited access highway. The 33 mile project would bypass Wapakoneta and several villages, linking with the Piqua bypass and aiding Dayton Toledo corridor development. If approved the relocation would join the state system immediately.

Weekend Patrol Reports Three Crashes In Hocking County Area

State highway patrol investigated three weekend crashes. On Rt 328 near Union Furnace two cars driven by Pearl Heinlein and James Thress collided on a hill crest. Thress faced a driving with insufficient brakes charge and $15 bond forfeiture.

A light morning rain gave way to mild conditions in Hocking County with a noon high of 58 and a 38 degree low last night. Partly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures are forecast for Tuesday with a 52 high. New Farm Bill Revisions Stir Senate House Panels
