C. Morris, 85, a well known figure in the Hocking Valley coal industry, died Friday night in the Allamira Nursing Home, Tiffin, where he had been a patient for years. He was a retired general superintendent of the New York Coal Co and helped develop the Valley coal industry. Born in Circleville, he belonged to the Nelsonville Presbyterian Church, Elks and Philadorian Masonic lodges. He is survived by a daughter Marian Stephan and five grandchildren. Funeral arrangements by Johnson Funeral Home, Nelsonville, are incomplete.
