Athens Man Fined on Three Traffic Charges
An Athens man, Allison Bentley 44 formerly of Logan, was arraigned before Judge Vaughn Collins on drunken driving leaving the scene and driving without a license after an accident in West Logan at 2 05 p m Saturday. Bentley was fined 150 dollars and costs and sentenced to three days in jail on the DWI charge and fined 50 dollars and costs on each of the other two charges. The accident occurred at Old McArthur Road and Homer Street the first intersection south of Falls Mill grocery. Deputy Fd Smith reported Bentley’s auto left the road damaged hedge struck a parked car owned by Howard Nelson and knocked over mail boxes before Bentley was arrested at a friend’s home in West Logan. The Nelson car sustained heavy rear end damage. Deputies also checked two other mishaps on Sunday including a one car crash on Potter Ridge injuring Sally Amerine and a minor crash on N Walnut Road involving Frederick J. Meyer.
