Columbus dispatch reports Ohio River floodwaters race southward toward the Mississippi with powerful currents eroding valleys and threatening greater devastation than 1913. The AP account notes observers from the air witness widespread destruction as waters advance, with continued coverage expected.
McGuffey citizens threaten a constitutional test of the Traxler Kiefer school foundation program. They plan action in Harden county courts to restrain the county board of education from transporting McGuffey pupils to Alger three miles away to meet a state fund enrollment requirement of 180. The group also favors building a new high school.
A large ham taken Saturday from Harry Starr's Gore area farm has reappeared in the farm smokehouse. Sheriff Joe Farbearn, already probing the theft, was informed of the discovery yesterday.

In Deerfield mass flood rescue Pinto named hero as he ferried a boy and others to safety. Five residents were evacuated from their homes as the flood surged, with Pinto guiding swimmers to safety and helping retrieve belongings.
Fred Shively Logan service director under Mayor Elias E Bright appointed state highway maintenance supervisor for Hocking county. He succeeds J R Ralston who resigned after suspensions. Walter Voris served as temporary supervisor during the last absence. Harley Calvin division engineer announced the change in Logan.
Barton A. Hall of Logan, commander of the Eight district, presented medals to winners of the American Legion post essay contest in Circleville. The ceremony occurred last night at Howard Hall Post No. 184.
Hocking Glass of Lancaster Ohio petitioned the Supreme Court for a refund of $32,521 in federal taxes paid in 1924 on $260,158 damages received under use and occupancy fire insurance.

Charles J. Lynch aged 60 former judge of the court of appeals died in Bellaire Ohio from a stroke he had eight years earlier served eight years on the common pleas court and was a jurist in the state.
The League of Nations council unanimously condemned Germany under Reichsfuehrer Hitler for violating Versailles and Locarno treaties by moving troops into the Rhineland. Germany opposed the measure, with Belgium and France abstaining from counted votes. Joachim von Ribbenstrorp argued Germany acted to counter France and Soviet pact fears.
The Hocking river valley remains safe with river levels 10 feet below the recent high. Heavy rain could accelerate snow melt, but current observations indicate no severe flood.
