Hocking Scouts Shine At Annual First Aid Meet

More than 100 guests watched 93 scouts from six troops compete in Logan armory for first aid honors. Comanche Patrol of Troop 254 won with 62 points. Flaming Arrow Patrol and Fox Patrol tied at 59 and faced a playoff for runner up.

Debated Dam Site Prompts Public Hearing in Huntington

Residents fear loss of historic bridges and fragile land along Clear Creek Gorge as flood control plans weigh two dam sites. Special Fellowship Service Set At Immanuel UM Church

Immanuel United Methodist Church hosts an inter racial inter denominational fellowship service on Sunday with Junior and Senior MYF groups welcoming youths and adults from the Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith Columbus. Lancaster Man Hit With Beer Bottle

The Hocking sheriff's department was called at 1 30 a m to the Five Mile Tin where James Rose of Lancaster told officers he was struck over the head by a beer bottle He was treated at Hocking Valley Community Hospital for a head laceration according to the report.

Regional IRS Official F. Dean McCrory Dies at 59

Cincinnati AP reports F. Dean McCrory assistant regional commissioner for the Internal Revenue Service died Friday at age 59. He led IRS operations in Indiana Ohio Kentucky Michigan and West Virginia and had served as a government employee since 1941.
