The committee trimmed the Department of Health Education and Welfare by 15.35 million from 129.04 million requested. Grants to states for polio vaccinations totaling 27.8 million and payments to school districts 34.9 million were approved in full.
Mayor Francis Myers and Police Chief Roy reminded Logan residents that cars must display license plates on both ends. The police and state patrol will strictly enforce the law after March 3 to avoid a last minute rush for 1956 plates.
