Wisconsin's long serving Governor Walter Samuel Goodland dies at the executive mansion from a heart attack. Lt. Gov. Oscar Rennebohm will succeed him. The 84 year old Republican, known as a "tough old codger," was in the office until 4:30 yesterday afternoon and said he felt fine before retiring for the night. He died at 10:15 P.M.

One Slaying Solved in Los Angeles Brutal Series
