Washington dispatch reports meat butter and cheese rationing to start March 29. Two pounds weekly per person for home consumption. Butter fats canned fish and oils rationed at the same time. Office of Price Administration outlines allotments to even civilian supplies amid wartime constraints.
Nazi forces reportedly abandoned Vyazma 130 miles west of Moscow as the Kharkov battle intensified with substantial German reinforcements and street fighting. Berlin claimed Vyazma was evacuated on plan after heavy bombardment, while Soviet lines reportedly held strong west and southwest of the city.
S H Pete Sebold general chairman urges rural residents to mail donations soon as 2000 countians were contacted to save gasoline and rubber. Despite generous gifts the drive is at halfway and city team captains will report next week. Lebold notes the campaign theme It’s Your Fight Too.
Indianapolis march 12 Capt Eddie Rickenbacker declares the United States will put 15 million men into uniform before victory by the United Nations. He says the U S has the only Allied nations with surplus fighting manpower.
Des Moines report states the Iowa House of Representatives adopted a resolution urging action on a constitutional amendment to limit the presidency to two terms of four years each. The measure reflects a strong Republican push amid debate over presidential tenure.
Charles Mundy, 23, of Logan area, reported missing since February 17 after war department telegram. He shares infantry unit with Clyde Bloomfield. others missing include Clarence Prim mer, Wilbur Primmer, Wilbur Primmer, and Wilbur Bond. Hope remains they were captured and may be released as Allied forces trap Rommel in the African desert.
Elmer F Kruske, Ohio agriculture war board chairman, said Ohio would meet its increased 1943 pork quota despite severe weather and newborn pig deaths. Dispatches from Marseille report France is being bled white of manpower as Germany stages medical exams to fill war industry labor demands. French youths claim they are railroaded to Germany, with only paralysis or tuberculosis able to save them from conscription into Nazi production.
The Ohio League of Women Voters protested a senate commerce and labor committee bill to relax female labor laws to ease wartime manpower shortages. The group said a 52 hour week and a 10 hour day for non war production are too long and unnecessary.

Clarence Crobaugh faced arraignment postponement for embezzling 170000. Lulu Sacksteder pleaded innocent to an aiding and abetting indictment and was released on bond.
Dr. William P. Edmunds Cleveland area director of the War Manpower Commission opposes a 43 hour work week saying any change from the 40 hour standard would remove overtime pay incentive. He notes current war industry hours average about 43 hours.

Viktorov the commentator notes a German manpower crisis and signals a planned renewed push with 3 to 4 million troops from satellites. Turkey reports repeat calls for more troops and workers as Hitler plans a major yearlong offensive against Russia.
Tucson report names 2nd Lt. Frederick E. Neale of Springfield Ohio as the bombadier aboard the missing B-24 crew found wrecked in the Galiuro Mountains after departing Davis Monthan Field January 18. Captain Fred Finney announced the discovery of the craft and the crew of 11.
Eaton Ohio March 12 Prosecutor John Kiracore said he would file a dozen affidavits today charging motorists with importing liquor from Indiana into Ohio illegally. About 175 bottles were confiscated two weeks ago when two were blocked and cars stopped by authorities. The warrants accuse possession of liquor bearing the Ohio seal.
