A Suffolk County jury on Long Island awarded Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Kuhns of Brentwood $29,000 after a pharmacist misread a physician’s handwriting and dispensed nasal decongestant tablets instead of birth control pills. The suit claimed $6 million for a pregnancy and a son now five years old.

Lobbyist Denies Collusion Between ITT and Nixon Administration

Washington lobbyist Mrs. Dita Beard for ITT Corp denies any collusion with the Nixon administration in an antitrust settlement. She also rejects claims that former Atty. Gen. Mitchell was told by the President to influence the ITT settlement. Beard, 53, is hospitalized in Denver with a serious heart condition while inquiries continue.

Columbia Gas Motion Slated For Hearing

PUCO chairman Henry W. Eckhart announced hearings on the Columbia Gas of Ohio and Ohio Valley Gas Company motion to restrict gas sales to new residential customers. Gov. John Gilligan has interest in the matter. Hearings begin Monday April 3 at 10 a.m. in Columbus at 111 N. High St. An issues entry will follow.

Nine narcotics charges dropped in Franklin County case

James R. Strausbaugh 21 of Logan faces two narcotics counts after a preliminary hearing in Columbus Municipal Court. nine charges were dismissed. Co-defendants Randall Worthman 18, Gary Allen 21, Walter Young 20, and Richard Cotterman 22 remain under various bonds or continued hearings to March 14 17. The arrests followed a Franklin County sheriff raid at Route 33 and Gender Road north of Canal Winchester on March 2, yielding about $1000 in narcotics including cocaine and LSD.
