Weekend Crashes Reported In County With Citations

Five minor crashes were reported in Hocking County over the weekend with six traffic citations issued by state patrol. Incidents included a two car collision on Rt. 33 near Logan with Richard Tucker cited for improper lane change, and separate crashes on Hunter Street and at the Hunter Front West intersection. Deputies also reported minor collisions on a township road and in a parking lot, with injuries described as minor. Two Athens and Lancaster patrols logged three minor crashes each despite fair weather.

Three Youths Answer Draft Call From Hocking County

Three youths reported for induction by Selective Service Board No. 61 in Hocking County. Thomas Stephen Hahn of Rockbridge Darrel Thomas Dexter of New Plymouth and Walter Alvin Potts of Rockbridge are the new inductees. Hahn is the seventh of eight siblings with relatives in the Nurse Corps Waves and Army Navy. They were given gift boxes by the Logan Adult Education Club before boarding a bus to Fort Hayes Columbus for induction. Also listed are John Wesley Cannon of Logan Navy and Jerald Jeremiah Mathias of Rockbridge Army.

Two Laurelville Area Residents Die in Early Incident

Two Laurelville area residents died early today identifying the victims as Elmer Ingram 70 and Mrs Elizabeth Karshner 75 both of Laurelville Rt 2. Further details were not available at press time.

Korea War Bonus Forms Start Distribution in Ohio

The Korean War bonus program begins nationwide through Ohio with 22 National Guard trucks delivering application forms to banks newspapers employment services veterans groups and other agencies.
