Nelsonville charter panel OKs full time mayor plan
Nelsonville voters may elect a full time mayor under an 8 to 1 vote by the city charter commission. The proposal keeps most government parts, sets a 5500 annual salary, and places treasury duties with an elected city auditor. The council retains oversight and a potential recall process, with committee readings due by Aug 1.
