Margaret Lutz 80 died unexpectedly at home after a Sunday illness following church and lunch in Logan Ohio. A pioneer professional woman and Red Cross worker she directed St Matthew Church choir for decades and served as executive secretary for the local Red Cross chapter. Burial is in Oak Grove Cemetery after funeral services at St Matthew Lutheran Church.

Two Car Crashes Injure Three In Hocking County
Over the weekend three traffic crashes in Hocking County and one in Perry County injured two drivers. Luke Prater, 39, of Dundas, escaped injury when his car hit a bridge near Enterprise. Forest Withers, 18, and Charles Winland, 49, were involved in a Laurelville sideswipe. Withers’ car rolled into a field and a passenger, Florence Iles, a South Bloomingville resident, was treated for facial lacerations. Robert Wallace, 27, of Logan was hurt in a Rt. 312 crash, his car overturning into a creek. he faced reckless operation charges. A second two-car crash at Marathon service station caused minor damage to Marion Collins’ vehicle. no injuries reported.

Flowers Pleads Guilty To Manslaughter Count
An 18 year old Rockbridge youth charged with second degree manslaughter in the Feb 13 traffic death of Edward Iles on Rt 33 near Enterprise changed his plea to guilty this morning. Judge Harley Meyer fined Leonard D. Flowers 500 dollars and sentenced him to six months in county jail with driving rights suspended for two years. The court suspended 400 dollars of the fine and jail term pending good behavior. Iles, a well known Logan farmer, died 7 1/2 hours after the accident at Lancaster Fairfield Hospital. Flowers rear ended Iles as he waited to turn onto old Rt 33. his car carried Iles’ car 166 feet into a gully. Flowers and three passengers were uninjured.

Burglars Strike Walton Clubhouse For Second Time
Walton Izaak Walton League clubhouse on Lake Logan was ransacked Sunday night amid ongoing investigation of a Wednesday break in. Custodian Robert Jurgensmier said seven or eight cases of beer two cases of soft drinks and $3 in change from a juke box were stolen between noon Sunday and 10 a.m. today. Thieves broke down the rear door caused glass and disrupted equipment in the bar room.
