Hocking County treasurer Francis E. Myers reported first half personal property tax receipts totaling $100,105.89, down $8,810.16 from a year ago. The breakdown includes grain taxes, delinquencies, and multiple district allocations across Benton, Falls, Green, Perry, Salt Creek, Starr, Laurel, Marion, Ward townships and Logan, Laurelville, Murray City, and area school districts.

Two Motorists Cited After Logan Valley Crashes
At 3:16 p.m. Monday at Main and Spring Streets two-car collision left George Zinn 42 Logan and Earl Riggs 17 injured and Zinn cited for left of center. A second crash at Hunter and Furnace Streets injured Kathy A. Tschudy 19 and Michael Benton 30 with Benton cited for following too closely. Bigham siblings were hospitalized after their car struck a tree on Route 56 near Laurelville.

Logan police cited two motorists for traffic violations. James D. Thomas, 26, Akron, ran a stop sign at Florence and Walhend ing Aves at 7:30 a.m. today and faces mayor's court June 10. Terry L. Ricketts, 17, Rockbridge Rt. 1, charged with operating a vehicle without a muffler at Third and Elm Sts at 11:45 p.m. Monday and will appear in juvenile court later.

State Seeks Bids For New Bridge Near Laurelville
The state highway department invites bids on replacing a narrow Rt. 56 bridge in Pickaway County west of Laurelville. Bids open June 13. project total cost about 260000 including rights of way engineering and construction. A three span concrete slab bridge 44 feet wide will replace it with 24 foot wide approaches. Completion estimated June 30 1973. traffic to shift to a temporary run around bridge during build.

Firemen Quell Minor Auto Fire at Market Street
Logan firemen extinguished a minor car fire at 91 S Market St at 7 51 p m Monday. The car owned by Don Newton of Nelsonville apparently caught fire when the carburetor backfired. Three regular firemen and one volunteer responded to the alarm.
