Ohio builders press Congress to lower FHA payments to boost demand. Senators Bricker and Lausche back liberalized down payments, with House and Senate versions advancing toward conference. Ohio housing starts fell from 71 200 in 1955 to 60 900 last year and down 24 percent in early 1957. Lausche worries of inflation and unaffordable mortgage payments. Bricker aides cite industry relief but acknowledge limited impact.
In Hocking County Juvenile Court on Tuesday three Laurelville youths faced hearings for damaging the clothing of Salt Creek swimmers with rifle fire last week. Paul Swachhammer, 18, and two juveniles aged 15 and 17 were found guilty of delinquency or contributing to it and placed on probation. Each was ordered to pay $5 in damages.
Frank Brewster president of the Western Conference of Teamsters said that every penny borrowed from union funds has been paid or will be paid in full. In a letter to a San Francisco Bay area Joint Council he urged a program to eliminate practices he called poor and questionable and admitted a Senate committee inquiry highlighted shortcomings in financial management.
Thomas J. Frasure, 70, died at Grant Hospital Columbus at 4 p m following a March 20 crash on Route 33 seven miles north of Lancaster. He suffered serious head injuries in a three car collision and had been hospitalized about a month. Survivors include his wife Alice two sons Dwight and William Frasure a daughter Mary Beth Frasure a sister and six brothers. Funeral services set for Schoedinger Hilltop Chapel Columbus with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The Ohio Conference of the Methodist Church reports a rise in total contributions by 2,029,536 to 15,277,181 for the year ending this spring. Delegates numbering 2,000 attended a six day meeting that opened Tuesday, with per capita giving up 5.79 to 48.32.
A watery black slurry gushed into a trough at CEI Eastlake plant Tuesday night about 108 miles from Cadiz where it was pumped, marking the first successful full-length test of the $12 million pipeline. CEI expects to receive about 1,300,000 tons of coal annually from southeastern Ohio fields.

A 73 year old Federal Dam section collapsed into the Leech Lake river Tuesday night releasing waters onto sparsely populated northern Minnesota lowlands. About 100 feet of the 1000 foot concrete dam gave way during repairs near Leech Lake, which feeds the Mississippi River system.

In Hocking County Common Pleas Court the unions move to dismiss as the suit on a temporary restraining order seeks to curb labor activity. Cleveland report shows 3 141 806 tons of iron ore shipped on the Great Lakes in the week ended Monday, per the Lake Superior Iron Ore Association. The prior year week handled 3 516 021 tons.
Carl R. Frye 65 longtime general manager of Peoples Development Co. Columbus and Tectum Corp. of Newark subsidiaries of Nationwide Insurance died of a heart attack at his home Tuesday authorities said. He led regional operations and served in the industry for decades.

Raymond Lee Rollins 20 of Logan Route 4 was released on 1000 bond after an arraignment before Mayor Francis Myers. Police say Rollins admitted assaulting a 36 year old Logan widow at her home early Easter morning with a .22 revolver.
A 33 foot Regulus II guided missile went out of control on Tuesday and crashed in the Mojave Desert near Edwards Air Force Base. The supersonic missile, designed for submarines and warships, carried no warhead. No injuries occurred and no facilities were damaged.
