Davis Captured in Bremer Kidnap Case Arrives in St Paul

Volney Davis, 33, tied to the $200000 Edward Bremer kidnapping and linked to the Karpis Barker gang, was arrested in Chicago and heavily manacled, flown to Minneapolis area for arraignment on the Bremer charge. Hoover confirmed the arrest. details remain scarce after a shooting incident.

Snake in sewing drawer shocks Beaufort woman

Mrs Leslie Springle opened a sewing machine drawer in Beaufort North Carolina and a live rattlesnake sprang out. Her husband killed the rattler but could not explain how it got there.

Blast victim brought here in Mt. Pleasant gas well blast

Pearl Trowbridge 37 of Union Furnace died from severe burns after a gas well explosion near Mt. Pleasant Michigan. Nine injured in the blast at Gordon Oil Co. No. 1 Williams well as workers prepared to cap it. Trowbridge was a Logan area resident and a brother of Park Trowbridge. Ambulances transported injured to hospital after on site first aid.

Nudist Inmate Sets Wardrobe Ablaze in Calaboose

Chas Reynolds of South Bloomingville reportedly stripped the walls of his cell, burned his clothes in a fire, and wailed loudly. Police found him without attire and he was moved to the county jail. Probate court will review his case.

Brothers Die Three Days Apart in Hocking County

Two Mt. Pleasant area brothers George and Wesley Riggs died within days of each other. Wesley, 74, died Wednesday after a stroke, leaving a widow Hattie and four children. George, 65, died Sunday of a stomach ailment. Funeral services were held or planned at Mt. Pleasant M. E. Church with Rev. Harland officiating. Surviving relatives include several siblings and grandchildren. Heinlein Bros. handled arrangements.

The Democrat-Sentinel announces the Logan Daily News, a weekday paper for Logan and Hocking County. Logan Mason Stricken and Dies at Home

Logan Mason a 48 year old brick mason from Logan died at home on East Main Street at 9 oclock from an attack of acute indigestion suffered after an outing with his wife and friends. He had been under a physician for months but died before aid could arrive. He is survived by his wife two sons Charles of Logan and Thomas of near Detroit Mich a number of brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at the home Wednesday afternoon with Rev A L Heyde presiding. Arrangements are handled by Woodard Funeral Service.

Quetta authorities plan to finish demolishing the ruined Garden City of India by dynamiting debris to prevent further danger after a sequence of earthquakes.

Newspaper man Carl T Robertson dies in Casablanca

A cablegram to Mrs Ida Wuebben Logan reports the death of Carl T Robertson in Casablanca Morocco. Robertson was the Cleveland Plain Dealer associate editor and columnist and husband of Miss Josephine Wuebben formerly of Logan. He was touring Europe for the paper when he died and relatives say he suffered heart trouble.

Fire damages two blazes linked to electrical faults

A garage rear of the Dorothy Sheline residence on Fur nace street sustained a fire Saturday night with damage about $25. Firemen laid hose across West Hunter Street near the West Grade school causing traffic detours on Church Street. Earlier, a car owned by Samuel Griffith near Wesboro suffered $15 loss from a separate fire caused by defective wiring on Mulberry Street near Main. Firemen used chemicals to extinguish the second blaze.
