BIS Inmate Sentenced To Mansfield
A 16 year old Boys Industrial School inmate who attacked a matron on June 19 was sentenced to Mansfield Reformatory until age 21. He was found guilty in Fairfield County Juvenile Court of assault with intent to rob and rape against a 26 year old matron from Union Furnace. The matron was severely beaten about the head with a soft drink bottle. The youth was taken into custody on BIS grounds shortly after the incident.

Westinghouse to lay off 900 at Columbus plant
