Charge Suitor Shot With Intent To Kill
Prosecuting attorney Hubert D. Lappen said Thursday that he filed a charge of shooting with intent to kill against Darrell Mace 35 Lancaster held in the Hocking County jail in connection with the wounding of Mrs Lenore Brown 29 also of Lancaster at the home of her sister Mrs St Clair Leffler at Hayden ville Tuesday. Mace will likely be arraigned Friday morning. Mrs Brown mother of two remains in serious condition at Cherrington Hospital. Shotgun blast tore away part of her left forearm and lodged in her right breast near her six-month-old baby. Mace admitted a clandestine romance with Brown and prosecutors say the shooting was premeditated.

Orland Strawser a 62 year old bachelor cripple who lived on a small hillside farm near Laurelville shot himself with a 12 gauge shotgun after setting out to test exploding cartridges. Albert Unger, his nephew, found him on the hillside 50 feet behind the house. Sheriff and coroner said death was instantaneous.
