John E. Tritsch 65 Dies of Heart Attack in Columbus

John E. Tritsch, 65, former Logan resident, died at his Columbus home 660 So High St after a heart attack. He ran a confectionery in Columbus for 19 years and is survived by his wife Jennie Sanderson, two sons John of Miami and Ben K. of Columbus, a sister Mrs Kate Becker, and three grandchildren. He belonged to the Logan Masonic Lodge. Funeral arrangements are pending at Arthur H Maeder. burial will be at Oak Grove cemetery.

Sun Glow Company Adds Night Shift at Logan Plant

Sun Glow Industries announces a one hour night shift starting tonight at its Logan furniture factory. The exact headcount is not set, but office manager Henry Dague says the shift will continue for some time. A new two story addition is planned for the plant immediately.

Barn Destroyed by Lightning on Alfred Brown Farm

A barn on the Alfred Brown farm near Enterprise burned to the ground Saturday afternoon after a lightning strike during a storm. The blaze at about three o clock destroyed a recently stored wheat crop belonging to Andy Risch, causing several hundred dollars in damage.

Jean Bell described a killer who carved 3 12 and CL on her body after she allegedly failed to help free Charles Lucky Luciano. Detectives traced the suspect from Washington to a New York bound flight and launched a large manhunt with a possible accomplice dubbed the finger man. FDR Discusses Flood Control Plan With Federation

Eastern state representatives from the United States Flood Control Federation met President Roosevelt in Hyde Park to push a three way emergency program. The president agreed to a talk before a two week vacation sailing cruise on the Sevanna. He planned to travel by train to Rockland Maine to join the schooner with his sons James, John and Franklin Jr for a sail up the Maine coast toward New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

Girl Injured When Auto Skids Over Embankment

Miss Virginia Irvin of Columbus was treated at Cherrington hospital for a sprained knee and cuts after the car she rode in rolled over a steep hill near Old Man's Cave. Apache Indian hanged on makeshift Gallows at dawn

SAN CARLOS Ariz July 13 AP Boastful Earl Gardner a 31 year old Apache killer was hanged for 33 minutes on a government improvised gallows using a rock crusher at Coolidge Dam. Armed guards watched as the trap released and the noose snapped his head back. He killed his wife and infant son last December and had earlier killed a fellow tribesman in 1925. Gardner spent seven years in prison and chose the extreme penalty rather than return to prison.
