Ed Staff reports that D C Walker of 385 South Mulberry Street showed a 1798 silver dollar in excellent condition. The coin bears Columbia with flowing hair and Liberty above the bust, with One Dollar inscriptions on the obverse. Walker says he received it from Mrs Icel Holzschuh as payment at Allen’s Grocery a decade ago.

Descendants of Good Hope Township Pioneers Plan Reunion
Preliminary arrangements are underway for a Good Hope Town ship descendants reunion tentatively set for Sunday September 8 at Rockview Mathias Grove north of E. Promoter George M. Morris Columbus State Senator for Franklin and Pickaway counties traveled here Tuesday to support the project. Morris a brother of Joe L. Morris Logan was born in Good Hope Township and taught in local schools. He later joined the Ohio State University faculty and spent years in the State Department of Education. He lived in Fairfield County for years and served as clerk of courts and county representative to the General Assembly. Pioneering families include Mathias Morris Wharton Woltz Hull Beougher Troxel Carpenter Bailey and others whose descendants still reside nearby.
