New Formula Adds to Weekly Unemployment Benefits

Columbus Ohio July 8 AP. Between 90 000 and 120 000 Ohioans will receive 2 dollars extra per week in unemployment compensation for idleness from Jan 1 to Feb 23 under a new formula. Administrator H C Atkinson says the plan adds about 1 000 000 dollars total raising the average weekly benefit to 12 dollars. A prior formula was deemed inadequate by Franklin County Common Pleas Court.

Logan Post Office Sees Rise in Receipts for 1938 39

Logan post office gross receipts for the year ending June 30 1939 rose to 24726.40 from 23950.87 the prior year. Money orders issued totalled 25870 for 218690.31 with 2448.91 in fees. Paid money orders were 3332 amounting to 41357.78. Postal savings certificates issued valued at 104460 with 101372 paid to holders and 2474.30 in interest. Certificates on deposit increased by 3088.

4-H Club Tour Plans Include Visit to Orient Institute
