A large copperhead was captured by a mother cat owned by Ed Miller of Haydenville. The feline returned home dragging the snake, which served as several days of meals for the kittens.
Hocking County Extension Agent James R. Smoot announces a November rat extermination drive. Farmers will place a frozen poison prepared from fish by G C Oder kirk in strategic spots. it is deadly to rats but harmless to humans and domestic animals. The campaign will wait for the first cold weather to lure rats from fields to barns for trapping.
