Frank Devos and Charles Fruedenberg, sugar beet workers from eastern Sandusky County, were killed in a two-vehicle crash on U S Highway 6 eight miles east of Fremont. Sheriff H L Myers said both men had been in the beet fields about a month and likely came from Detroit.

Kansas City July 1 AP Transcontinental and Air Inc announced a new role for its hostesses. Each girl must be a reporter and interview passengers during flights. Reports will be sent by wireless to regional news offices for delivery.
