The Weather Bureau reports a 30 day outlook for July with above normal temperatures across the southern half from the Rockies to the Atlantic. Youth Steals Bus Second Time Shown By 19 Year Old

Ollie Wilson a Bronx youth is jailed after taking a 411 passenger bus from New York Port Authority. He drove overnight to Iowa where a highway patrol found the bus stuck in a ditch near Farley. He said he took the bus to get to California and had about 125 dollars. His mother recalled a prior theft in January 1957 and described him as crazy about driving.

Seaway and power projects reach dramatic completion blast

A thunderous blast in MASSENA marks the end of the US section of the St. Lawrence Seaway and power projects. A 500-foot cofferdam wall was broken to flood the river basin creating a new 35-mile lake as turbines begin test runs and ships prepare to ply the locks. Gasoline Fire Destroys Garage and Porch in South Logan

A gasoline fueled blaze in South Logan damaged a garage and the back porch of Warren and Mrs. Henry at 903 Walhending Ave. Michael Henry, 12, reported starting the fire with a struck match and overturned gasoline. Firefighters controlled the flames by 3:50 p.m. with $1,500 in losses.

TB Infected Boy 6 Brings Call For Tests

Dr H M Boocks Hocking County health commissioner announced efforts to curb TB spread in Laurelville. A six year old Laurelville first grader diagnosed with tuberculosis prompted letters to classmates bus riders and other contacts. Testing day is set at the health department with patches worn 48 hours and supplied by the Hocking County Tuberculosis and Health Association.

Farm Tractor Truck Crash On Rt 33 Near Enterprise

A truck and a farm tractor pulling hay collided on Rt 33 near Enterprise at 7 15 a m. No injuries reported.
