OEPA Schedules Public Meeting on Lake-Moor Sewage Plant

Carr protests method of selecting a councilman

Rhodes demands rapid PUCO overhaul faster energy actions

Gov James A Rhodes urged a revamped Public Utilities Commission of Ohio noting delays up to three years hinder energy crisis responses. New Gas Rate Plan Presented To Council

Logan Civil Service Affirms LeClain Dismissal

The Logan Civil Service Commission sustains the removal of Robert LeClain as city fireman after finding his July 18, 1974 strike on Donald Schultz violated good behavior and duty. The panel notes personnel complaints and inaction by the fire chief. LeClain was removed August 13, 1974. The commission’s findings include Chief Courter’s five year average performance remark and that reassignment requests were denied.

Unseasonably Warm Weather Hits Hocking Valley

A warm spell swept the Hocking Valley with a thunderstorm bringing 1.5 inches of rain overnight. Temperatures rose from a Tuesday high of 58 to 69 by midmorning, before a cooling trend and a forecast of clouds and lows in the 30s. The extended outlook calls for a chance of rain or snow Sunday with fair conditions Friday and Saturday.
