An appeal seeks blood donors for Mrs. Clarence Janet Poling of Logan Rt. 2 who is recovering from open heart surgery at St. Luke's Hospital Houston. Red Cross bloodmobile will be in Logan at the armory Thursday January 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments at 385 3536. Prior to Houston transfer she was at Mt. Carmel West Medical Center Columbus since January 2. She has six children aged four months to 16 years and has been a Logan schools bus driver for six years.

Ohio to Revoke 400 Nursing Home Licenses Over Fire Safety
Health Director John H. Ackerman said action is under way to revoke licenses of 400 nursing homes for fire prevention noncompliance. Fire marshal figures show 308 of 882 homes fully comply, 149 have sprinklers with minor deficiencies. A second deadline under the 1972 fire safety law passed in January. Ackerman noted many revocation steps began last year. 19 licenses have been stripped and 23 closed before proceedings were finished.
