One Day Delay For Lockgate Closure In Lake Logan Work
The fish removal program at Lake Logan will use an electric shocker until the dam gate closes. The gate is set to close Saturday January 15 or Sunday January 16 depending on weather. Monday will see the fish toxin deployed to remove remaining undesirable fish from streams. A Monday shipment arrived in Athens and five pound toxin bags will be dropped every half mile in low current areas. Shock treatments continue until gate closure. About 12 pounds of fish were removed from Duck Creek including three smallmouth bass. District staff listed include Marvin Nungester Estes White George Billy Don Leonard Richard Oliver and H W Patrick. Albert Seabright reported road work at Lake Logan is on schedule and using extra equipment to finish before high water. December lost nine days due to snow. Work progresses in three phases emergency raising to water level widening detour road and raising final topping. Detour road has been built up with filler material and an additional raise will follow. Material comes from General Hocking Brick Corp Logan Pottery and Natco Haydenville. A final two foot crushed rock layer will bring the road about two feet above the level.
