Five people were injured in weekend accidents across Hocking County. Irene Barnhart 18 Logan Rt.1 and a 22 year old Columbus man Robert Potts escaped with neck injuries after a two car crash at W Front and West Streets. Barnhart was cited for following too closely. A busier Sunday saw Richard Disbennett 48 Columbus cause a crash with J P Garden 75 Kingston injuring Paul Priest Jr. and damaging cars. Disbennett cited for failure to yield. A second Sunday crash on Rt 93S injured Ralph Campbell 18 Lancaster with facial and leg cuts after losing control and hitting a tree. Campbell cited for speed excessive for conditions. Two minor weekend crashes were investigated by the state highway patrol. James Acker 54 was cited for driving left of center after a three-vehicle incident. (Continued on Page 2).

Six crewmen burned to death in a fiery collision of two heavy freight trains at a diamond crossing near Wooster Ohio. A seventh crewman escaped as four bodies were taken from diesel engines and two remained trapped. Fire erupted from exploding fuel tanks drawing 100 to 200 firemen who fought 150 foot flames for over an hour.
