A wildcat well in Madiil Oklahoma gushed poisonous sulphuric gas but was brought under control after valves were adjusted to vent pressure. Sinclair Oil No. 5 Griffin blew out Wednesday morning with an estimated five million cubic feet per day. No fire occurred as workers used gas masks and kept spectators one mile away while drilling mud was pumped in to halt the flow.
