5 Story Hydraulic Press To Begin Production At Logan Clay
A five story hydraulic press will start operation next week at Logan Clay Products Co. in a basement to penthouse layout. The press, replacing a steam unit, will produce longer pipes up to seven feet and 36 inches in diameter with a 2500 pound pipe. The equipment, purchased from Pearne Lacy Co. of California, was assembled by a foreman after arriving in four trailers. Eight workers will operate the new system, down from 22 with the old press.
