Poulson Summoned in Graft Probe by Ohio Senate

Two Men Face Charges Over Theft of Farm Stove

Ben Boyer 65 and Charles Witham 27 were arrested in separate counties on petty larceny warrants for stealing a $15 heating stove from T. D. Mitchell's farm near Mt. Pleasant. Magistrate S. B. Whitehart set arraignments today. Boyer was arrested by Sheriff Joe Farbeann. Witham was captured by Vinton County officers and returned to Logan. The theft is dated December 12.

Fire Loss Records Hit Lowest In Years In Logan

Fire loss in Logan during 1937 was the lowest in at least 200 years, totaling 390 dollars. Of this, 375 dollars resulted from a garage fire on Zanesville Ave that destroyed a truck owned by Clifford Iles.

Police Locate Lost Pocketbook

Police chief Lew Reynolds announced a pocketbook lost November 27 by Mrs. Mary Burns of South Market Street was found at home of Carl Love on Homer Avenue. Love and Paul Wilson recovered the purse contents totaling six dollars sixty five cents spent, with two five dollar bills and a $1000 receipt and a $100 note inside.

Six survivors recount a Pacific coastal voyage aboard the schooner Aafje starting December 20 from San Pedro. Owner Dwight Faulding was killed by Jack Morgan who then ruled with terror until two youths dumped Morgan overboard after five days. The FBI questions continued as the crew faced custody and pursuit.

Mayor Kenneth Fitzgerald Reports $2522 in Fines Collected

Bolinger Faces Two Indictments In Toledo Case

James Bolinger of Fremont Ohio ex examiner for the state securities division surrendered to Lucas County prosecutor to answer a two count secret indictment charging him with soliciting a $3000 bribe connected to the defunct Toledo Guaranty Corp. The indictment named William Parmelo president and John L Rossell former vice president. It was voted by the Lucas County grand jury two weeks earlier.

Bailey Dies From Injuries After Auto Collision

Columbus police report Harry L. Bailey aged 42 died from injuries sustained December 22 when struck by an automobile. The accident occurred on December 22 and Bailey had been hospitalized since. He is survived by family members in the Columbus area.
