Four unidentified bandits attempted to rob the Midway Filling station at the State Routes 31 and 180 junction. Attendant Lewis Hensley fired with a .32 revolver and an automatic shotgun, prompting a hurried escape by the carful of men. Deputies Newton Spencer and Nellis Smith investigated. no clues on the suspects. The attack marked the station’s repeated break ins, with gasoline stolen and a shattered door. Owner Don Feather of Logan reported the incident.
