Two long serving Hocking County judges were honored by the Hocking County Bar Association in Logan. Judge Rhea Brown of probate and juvenile court and Judge Harley Meyer of the common pleas court were recognized for decades of service with a dinner and program. Brown retires December 31 after a 49 year legal career but will take on short term assignments.

Judge Keeps Fraud Suit Alive Over Ohio Electors
U S District Judge Joseph P Kinneary allowed Secretary of State Ted W Brown to proceed with certifying Ohio 25 Democratic presidential electors while keeping the injunction bid alive. The ruling preserves part of the suit seeking a new presidential election in Ohio and signals possible hearings next week on that portion. Brown plans to certify at 10 a m despite plaintiffs alleging ballot fraud from 54 wards in Cleveland Cincinnati Columbus and Toledo with about 12 000 suspected fraudulent registrations.
