Walter I Mathias 63 died Saturday evening at Brown Veterans Hospital Dayton after four months ill health. Born July 19 1906 in Hocking County he lived in Enterprise most of his life. A surveyor and WWII veteran he served in Europe and was a charter VFW member. Funeral Tuesday 10 30 am at Kline Memorial United Methodist Church Enterprise with burial at Knollwood Memorial Garden.

Pleads Guilty To Break-In At Firestone
Charles A. Decker age 32 of Reynoldsburg pleads guilty in Hocking County Common Pleas Court to breaking and entering in a case tied to a March 1 Firestone store break in Logan. Decker said he wished to waive rights as he is already serving a sentence and was brought from the state pen. City officer Hal Spang foiled the burglary by catching Decker as he loaded loot before police arrival. Judge Meyer postponed sentencing to this afternoon.
