Mechanic Linked to Cleveland Torso Slayings Probe

Library loans new theater books to Logan audience

Logan Public Library shelves new theater titles for the Logan Little Theatre era. Librarian Hortense Gibson announced Wednesday that "A History of the Theater in America" by Hornblow "Little Theater Organization" by Dean and "Directing for the Amateur Stage" by Crump are now available to readers.

Suspect Held in Ohio Bank Robbery Case

In New Cumberland West Virginia Captain D C Bailey said a third suspect tied to the 3063 dollar Senecaville Ohio First National Bank robbery was captured near New Cumberland. The suspect is Mike Merchak 20 of Weirton. Two other men Lawrence Curtis and James Fife were arrested Tuesday and signed statements admitting daylight holdup in Senecaville.

Election Judge S C Beekman of Mifflin Township Pike County was acquitted of election law violations raised by the Attorney General. He was the first of 15 defendants to stand trial as jurors found him not guilty. A venue change for remaining trials was set for Wednesday.

Ohio faces 1940 relief crisis risk for Cincinnati

The council warned Ohio may face a relief shortfall of not less than 400000 in Cincinnati in 1940 if the state does not meet obligations. The WPA has placed thousands of employables into the program, reducing direct city relief but delaying relief transfers. Santa Arrives as Logan Prepares Holiday Parade

Stage is set for Santa Claus to arrive in Logan on Saturday. A parade formed at Logan High School at 12 30 and moves at 1 00 along Main Street with school bands from Logan New Straitsville Union Furnace Murray City and Rockbridge potentially joined by Carbon Hill. The Logan Cycle Club guards Santa who rides a new snow white fire truck. Children can join the parade by reporting at the high school at 12 30.
