New York authorities and G men search for 32 year old Arthur Fried of a wealthy White Plains contracting family after reports he was abducted for a 200000 dollar ransom. Fried was to be a key witness in a forthcoming Dewey led inquiry into the sand and gravel business.
Ohio House Finance Committee backs Governor Davey's bill to appropriate 1 million dollars from the general revenue fund for relief this year. Proposals include extending taxes for relief and funding a 12 million welfare building program, with labor leaders urging immediate relief action.
