Columbus Man Hurt In Fall At Park

A Columbus man listed in critical condition at Mount Carmel East after a 12:30 p.m. fall from about 30 feet at Old Man's Cave in Hocking Hills State Park. Charles R. Willis, 33, was first treated at Hocking Valley Community Hospital before transfer. Nearby, two women visiting Ash Cave were robbed at gunpoint by a young man and woman, who took wallets, cash, and cards from Neal's, Polsky's, Penney's, Sears, Montgomery Ward, and Goodrich accounts. The lodge swimming pool will close for the season at Labor Day, and park activity included 18,000 visitors, 536 at the lodge pool, and 2,113 in the naturalist program.
