Police Use Clubs on Racial Marchers in Pittsburgh
In Pittsburgh hundreds of demonstrators demanding more jobs for Black workers clashed with police while trying to cross the Manchester and Sixth Street bridges. About 50 arrests were reported and two officers injured as tactical police with helmets and billy clubs controlled the crowds near the U. S. Steel 64 story skyscraper under construction.

City Opens Bids On New Equipment For Sewer Cleaning
Flexible Pipe and Tool Co of Lima appears to be the low bidder for a bucket type sewer cleaning machine with nine and sixteen horsepower units at 3395 and 3795 dollars respectively, delivery in 30 days. Other bids from Champion Corp of Hammond and OBrien Manufacturing Co of Chicago range up to 4044 and 4154 dollars. A factory rep will instruct the foreman Earl Beale and crew in operation and care of the equipment, which eases sewer maintenance by removing refuse and loading it to the dump truck.

Hocking County OKs resolution backing hospital trustees
The Hocking County commissioners approved a vote of confidence for the Hocking Valley Community Hospital board of trustees after petitions with about 2000 signatures urged removing trustees. Youth Fined For Auto Parts Theft
Charles W. Mock an 18 year old of Logan Rt 3 was fined $50 and costs and given a suspended 30 day jail sentence after pleading guilty to theft of auto parts. Police arrested him Sunday after spotting him walking in the alley behind the Hocking Poultry store carrying a car carburetor and air filter taken from a car at the Charles Geil lot.
