Tibor Hetenyi, 26, of Edison New Jersey, attempted a Niagara River fall using a six foot long propane tank converted craft. The craft stalled on rocks about 200 yards from Horseshoe Falls after slipping through a six foot rapids drop. Hetenyi was treated for chest bruises and charged with disorderly conduct.

Cosmonauts Return Safe After 49 Days in Space
Soviet cosmonauts Boris Volynov and Vitaly Zhlobov landed near Kokchetav Kazakhstan after 49 days aboard Salyut 5. Tass said both are in satisfactory condition and they conducted experiments on liquid metals plants insects and geology while monitoring the station. North Korea suggested physically separating troops with a line through the Panmunjom joint security area to prevent further clashes after the killing of two UNC officers. Maj. Gen.
