Mothers Honored By 4-H Clear Creek Victory Club

Mothers of 4 H members were entertained by daughters with an afternoon at the William Hahn home on Clear Creek Road. Clara Ellen Hahn hosted. guests included club officers Martha Jean, Clara Ellen, Eloise, Betty. many mothers and neighbors enjoyed games, ice cream, cakes, and tea. Additional notes mention Miss Louise Hahn visiting Columbus relatives, and various local family gatherings and Sunday dinners. Cpl John W Stiverson was wounded in Normandy July 20, with word reaching family in Rockbridge. Seaman Jake Hahn stationed at Treasure Island is listed by parents. An ice cream party hosted by Harry Mathias featured several local families as guests.
