Mark Williams of Nelsonville accuses Hocking County Sheriff Paul Hartman and deputies of negligence leading to burns from a jail cell fire on July 31 1974 while Williams was a juvenile prisoner. Logan Couple’s Daughter and Grandsons Escape Colorado Flood

Mr and Mrs George C Shaw of Logan learn their daughter Marianne Jurkowitz of Worthington and four grandsons survived the Big Thompson River flash flood in Colorado. A wrong turn led them to seek shelter at a higher ground motel as the 12 foot wall of water roared through the canyon. Ham radio operator Louis Bester then confirmed their safety around 2 a.m. Monday, with further word arriving at 9 a.m. from Denver.
