Man Survives 20 Day Ordeal in Tar Hollow State Forest
Circleville man Wilbur E. McConnaughey aged 38 survived a self imposed 20 day stay in Tar Hollow State Forest with virtually no food. Found by a search party near a summer camp area he weighed 112 pounds at hospital versus 156 before his disappearance. He spoke of frostbite and dehydration and said he slept during the day and walked at night to stay warm. He had avoided calling for help to respect a locked building and feared undergoing past shock treatments.

A two car collision on Rt 93 two miles north of Logan at 4 50 pm Saturday injured four people. Marion Starner 50 New Straitsville and Byron McKinley 38 Logan Rt 4 were the drivers. Starner suffered a fractured left foot neck laceration and arm bruises Carolyn Starner 16 had arm cheek and knee bruises Sharon Starner 18 endured severe facial cuts and bruises. Sharon was hospitalized at Hocking Valley Hospital. others were treated and released. McKinley faces drunken driving and left of center charges in Hocking County Court.
