Sam Leasure aged 64 of Laurelville Rt 2 died at 2 30 p m when the car he rode in plunged over a 12 foot embankment near the Vinton Hocking county line. Driver Harry Warren Chandler 59 and another passenger Leonard Smith 68 both of Laurelville Rt 2 were in the car. Smith injured and at Chillicothe Hospital Chandler held in Vinton County jail authorities said. Deputy Harold Steele reported they had been at a South Bloomingville tavern earlier and were traveling East Fork Rd when the crash occurred. Chandler reportedly lost control while trying to quiet an argument among the passengers.

C&O Engineer Collapses At Work In Logan
Harry Young 69 of Logan suffered a cerebral hemorrhage at 11 15 p m Monday while on night shift as an engineer at the Chesapeake and Ohio freight yards. Fellow workers rushed him to Hocking Valley Hospital where he was reported fair. He served the C&O and old Hocking Valley lines for 52 years and has worked in Logan yards since September 17 1904.
