At least 47 dead or missing after a blaze at 60 year old St Anthonys Hospital. 61 survivors identified and 47 still unaccounted for. The 3 ½ story building housed 108 patients with many infants and seniors perishing. Fire started in a laundry chute and the hospital elevator shaft was engulfed.

Truman to Seek Swift Senate Action on Pact
