President Johnson announces an irrevocable decision not to seek re election in 1968. He cites Vietnam war division and aims to avoid partisan conflict while pursuing de escalation. Kennedy and Rockefeller aides respond with cautious comments as the nation reevaluates the race.
The Hocking County School Board held a special session Saturday to adjust West Hocking district transfers to Laurelville and Logan districts. Transfers include Benton Township areas to Logan city district and return of the Denny Drum and Ohio Fuel Gas land to Logan. The board also authorized chief James Frey to seek Title II National Defense Education Act funds for science equipment.
