Great Increase in Flying Cadets Authorized by Army
Fort Sam Houston Texas reports that following congressional approval and presidential assent the Army War Department will raise the number of flying cadets. A new class of about 370 cadets will begin training every six weeks at the West Point of the Air as the Army Air Corps expands to 5 500 to 6 000 aircraft by July 1941. The government will train roughly 3,000 cadets annually for the next two to three years to meet pilot needs.
