Ban Saban Dies in Stable Fire at Omaha Race Track
San Saba News reports W. T. Travia Lecklear died Sunday afternoon while trying to lead his race horses from a burning stable at Ak-Sar-Ben track in Omaha Nebraska. He was a renowned West Texas trainer with long ties to Arlington Downs and Fort Worth racing. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ in San Saba and burial in Richland Springs cemetery. He left a wife two sons and several siblings.
