Twenty seven second grade pupils under Mrs Gravely create a two week Llano model town. Displayed at Llano Tire and Appliance includes a miniature Llano News and a variety of named local businesses.
Billy John Click and Henry Hammons named outstanding lineman and backfield star of the 1960 Liaguo School Yellowjacket team. Banquet at the school cafe teria announced by the Liano Junior Chamber and Booster Club. Both seniors earned district and regional honors including All district and All Central Texas listings.
Llano County will be well represented at the San Antonio Livestock Exposition February 10 to 19 with five FFA members and 19 4 H Club members entering livestock under supervision of Eugene Russell and Avent L P Amsler. Entries include Hereford breeding heifers and steers, Angus steers, lambs, Hampshire barrows, Berkshire barrow, Duroc barrow, Poland China barrows and other pure breed barrows from listed 4 H and FFA members.
Members of the Women’s Missionary Society of the First Baptist Church will meet Tuesday morning January 31 for a study on the life and works of Luther Rice.
Freddy A. Hopson earned a bachelor’s degree in education at Texas A&M College’s mid year graduation in College Station. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Hopson of Brackettville and formerly of Liano, married to Georgia Ann Hoffman. He will teach at A&M Consolidated Junior High School and pursue a master’s degree.
Mrs. William Boldin and aunt visit Lubbock relatives. funeral crowd at Tow Baptist Church for Mrs. Bud Key. Midland couple buys Espy Cabins renaming Varner Villa. Numerous arrivals visits and family events including births and gatherings across Tow and surrounding areas.
Funeral services for John Isaac Campbell 79 were held at Adamsville Baptist Church. Burial followed in Hanna Cemetery Cherokee. Born December 25 1881 in Atascosa County he lived in Llano and Lampasas counties. Survivors include his wife Ida O Neal three sons Leonard Lesley Elmer daughter Selma Johan son sister Dora Bush brother Henry Campbell and 11 grandchildren.
The Llano High School football banquet honors players managers coaches and their guests with awards and recognitions. Speakers and sponsors include Llano Junior Chamber of Commerce and Llano Athletic Booster Club officials and team members listed.
Lacy said work on rebuilding outside plant facilities for dial operation will start in the near future after building completion. A definite date for the inauguration of the new dial system has not been set.

Llano High School principal J R Chapman reports an exchange program between Llano and San Saba high schools. San Saba students will perform at Llano on January 30, then join a joint council meeting and lunch, with Llano students visiting San Saba on February 6.
Deer hunters seek leasings for the 1961 deer hunting season. T. M. Massey Llano Chamber of Commerce secretary reports few leases are listed with his office. Ranchers with available leasings should contact Mr. Massey so he can pass the information to prospective hunters.
Mrs. Tom Croom celebrated her ninetieth birthday on Thursday January 19 as friends visited to offer gifts and good wishes. Mrs. Neil Gibbs and the Junior Girls Auxiliary of the First Baptist Church gave a birthday cake with candles and a program for Mrs. Croom.
A film titled Highland Lakes of Central Texas by the Highland Lakes Tourist Association will be shown at First Union Church. Weekend guests of Mrs. Hazel Overstreet included Mr. and Mrs. W A Fordyce and four daughters of West Monroe Louisiana and Mr. and Mrs. James E Fordyce and baby daughter with Mr. and Mrs. Jerrel Don Overstreet and son from Austin.
Residents are invited to a Monday night meeting on Lakeshore Drive at Buchanan Dem at 7 30 p m. There will be no admission charged.
