David Alexander Gay longtime Cherokee merchant died Sunday after a five year illness at his Cherokee home. Born 1865 in San Sava county he lived there all his life. Legion May Build Home In Llano At $14000 Cost

Former Mineola resident dies in Dallas hospital
William James Phillips 35 died last month in a Dallas hospital from complications after an appendectomy. He was born May 18, 1904 in Harris County Georgia and lived near Valley Spring before moving to Mineola. Survivors include his parents, two sisters Mrs. Tom Parker and Mrs. M. T. Justus of Mineola, and two brothers Oakes F. Phillips of Dallas and J. B. Phillips of Texarkana. Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church of Mineola with Rev. K R Isbell officiating.
