Franklin and Marshall opening address on broad college culture
The opening exercises at Franklin and Marshall College featured Prof H. H. Beck delivering the annual address on College Preparation for the Specialized Career. He urged broad four year study across languages, history, philosophy, sciences, and economics, arguing breadth trumps early narrow specialization and stressing practical value through industrial experience. The event included unveiling a bronze tablet to Rev. Dr. Nathan Schaeffer and noted a bright football outlook.
