Barnyard Hunters Face Jail Under New Game Law
Opening of small game season on November 1 draws hundreds of gunners from Lititz. Rabbits dominate early counts, with five per day and forty per season. Other legal take includes ruffed grouse, squirrel, turkey, woodcock, and partridge with various daily and seasonal limits. The act, signed by Governor Pinchot in 1923, enforces a 150 yard safety zone around inhabited dwellings and bans leaving gates open or damaging fences during hunting.

Fire tower completed near Penryn Park
The state completed an eighty foot steel fire tower about a mile from Penryn Park with field glasses, living quarters, phone link, and a tower keeper, Jacob Nessinger of Brickerville, who will report forest fires year round. A road is under construction to the site and the area allows a wide view for fire detection. Potatoes shipped from Canada to Lititz arrive in good condition and praised as quality stock. Mrs. Harry Fisher of Honeybrook dislocated a shoulder and fractured her left arm after tripping over a chair at a visit with her daughter.

Former Lititz Man Sent Important Message to Washington from Alaska
Robert Zeller of Lititz, son of the late Theodore Zeller, has been directing a new forest trail in the Chikamin River district of Alaska under the Forest Service. A Penn State forestry alumnus and World War I veteran, Zeller now serves as a forester for the National government. His sister Mrs. Joseph Herr lives in Lititz.
